Unifying Supply Chain Operations at National Grid
A modern supply chain platform that saved $21M in one year
Role: Lead Product Manager
Teams: Engineering · Design · Data Science
Duration: 3-month MVP Build & ongoing product development
Impact: Improved visibility, communication, and planning across teams—driving $21M in savings and transforming supply chain operations at scale.
The Problem
Supply chain operations were facing compounding challenges:
Stockouts were stopping critical operations
Over-ordering and rising material costs created budget pressure
Warehouse space was overwhelmed
Teams were expected to scale grid modernization and renewables—fast
Legacy systems couldn’t keep up. Critical data was scattered across disconnected tools, and users relied on emails, spreadsheets, and manual phone calls just to stay aligned.
Our Approach: Human-Centered Discovery
We grounded m360 in a simple belief:
To solve business problems, we must first solve people problems.
Through co-creation sessions, field visits, and interviews with warehouse supervisors, planners, and procurement teams, we uncovered everyday friction that created systemic inefficiencies.
This human-centered process shaped everything—from feature prioritization to interaction design.
The Solution
We designed m360 around three key pillars:
1. Unified Data Platform
All inventory, project, and financial data in one product. One source of truth for the entire supply chain organization.
2. Embedded Collaboration
Contextual commenting and in-product communication eliminated fragmented back-and-forth emails and manual check-ins.
3. Predictive Modeling
Proactive forecasting based on rules engines + custom models helped teams plan for long-lead and critical items with confidence.
Design Philosophy
We intentionally designed m360 to feel intuitive and familiar—unlike traditional enterprise tools.
Circular navigation flows
Every page is shareable
Interface inspired by modern consumer apps
The goal? Create a product users want to use—because that’s how you unlock value at scale.
Results:
$21M saved in Year One
Greater visibility across inventory and projects
Transparent and timely decision-making
Increased trust between planning and field teams
Drastically reduced duplicate orders and last-minute purchases
m360 is now a foundational tool in the company’s modernization and energy transition journey.
What I Learned
This project reinforced two truths I bring to every product:
“Great software solves business problems by solving human ones first.”
“A clear product vision anchors teams—even as hypotheses evolve.”
The most powerful outcomes come from products people love to use.
